Description
Varnished natural timber. These pear shaped handles enable a rasp to be used most efficiently when trimming horses’ hooves. They allow a trimmer’s hand to swivel so that the rasp can stay at the correct angle to the hoof, no matter what part of the hoof is being dressed.
A trimmer is also able to easily hold the handle with a relaxed grip – and the best way to use a very efficient cutting tool such as a rasp is to stay relaxed.
Another aspect of successful rasp use is the ability to be ambidextrous and these handles encourage this by giving a trimmer good mechanical control with their non-preferred hand – again with a relaxed grip around the pear shaped handle.
These handles are robustly constructed and have a strong internal thread which means they can be locked up tight onto any tanged rasp. They can be changed onto new rasps many, many times.
I use these handles and they have lasted me for years.
