Rehabilitation
We specialise in rehabilitation at Mayfield, we offer 4 types of agistment from intensive care with boots to pasture agistment all under the supervision of our well trained team and our own resident veterinary nurse. The home paddocks spread over 300 acres of flat to undulating country and we are fortunate to be able to open further paddocks to horses as the need arises.

Retirement agistment
Hardly a week goes by when we don’t hear of another outer suburban paddock lost to development. We can’t stop progress, but where do all the horses go?
At Mayfield we have been offering retirement agistment for several years now. We have quite a number of retirees amongst the various mobs.
Why choose Mayfield for your horse?
- Company of the mob.
- The freedom to run when they want to.
- A temperate environment that is mitigated in the summer by huge shady gums and valley breezes and the winter is short with few bleak days and there is plenty of shelter.
- Large paddocks that vary from flat to undulating with solid and safe fences.
- We specialise in rehabilitating horses with chronic lameness.
- No ticks, no fruit bats, no midgeys and no Patersons’s Curse.
There is a professional, well trained team experienced in equine aged care; everything from diet to hooves. We even have our own resident veterinary nurse.
Mayfield is a kind climate for old bones and peaceful surrounds for old minds. And you will always be welcome to visit your old friends.
